Ever dream of creating your own hand-lettered calendar headline or an affirmation that pops off your journal page, but you’re just too intimidated to start? That’s exactly why we’ve created these printable calligraphy practice worksheets. These pages are the perfect tools to get you started on your voyage to beautiful handwriting. Calligraphy isn’t hard, but it is a skill and does take some practice to get the hang of it.
Each worksheet (A through Z) illustrates eight different letter styles. Each letter is traceable with plenty of room on each line left to practice. Practicing individual letter shapes helps you develop muscle memory, leading to better pen control and technique, and ultimately more beautiful handwriting.
We encourage you to use whatever pens you are most comfortable with: brush pens, fountain pens, inkwell pens, calligraphy pens, etc. There are many great calligraphy tools on the market that don’t cost a fortune. (Note: a more expensive tool will not improve your lettering skills. ?)
Please be kind to yourself and your work in process. Remember that journaling is NOT about perfection, but about making it your own. You’re tapping into your own creative voice to stir up some change in your life. Learning calligraphy is a process, so give yourself grace and embrace your improvement with each practice session. Take photos of your calligraphy work so you can see the improvement and progression made. Share your work with us to post so that together we can encourage others to come along with us in this journey.
